NFL Week 6 Dynasty Detour
Dynasty Detour - Week 6
Week 6 is in the rearview, and I owe a personal thank-you to Bijan Robinson for winning me two matchups on Monday night. It was a wild ride for running backs everywhere with five⦠count āem, five⦠RBs topping 30 fantasy points. Letās hit the Detour.
š Traffic Report
Letās take a look at the most intriguing performances and storylines from Week 6, where Drake Maye kept dealing, and Jaxson Dart locked eyes with a new favorite target ā leading to some wondering if heās cheating on Malik⦠wouldnāt be the first time.

Drake Maye, NE QB - 18/26 for 261 yds & 3 TDs
Welcome to the show, Drake Maye. After a statement win vs Buffalo, Maye was COOKING vs New Orleans. Not only did he have a great fantasy showing, but he passed the eye test again with flying colors.
Dynasty Takeaway: Maye keeps climbing the Super Flex ranks and will continue to do so with performances like that. Get this guy better weapons than a 31 year old Stefon Diggs, and letās see him shine. Maye is my QB 7, behind Herbert and ahead of Caleb.
WanāDale Robinson, NYG WR - 6/7 catches for 84 yds & 1 TD
With Nabers sidelined for the season, someone has to catch passes from New Yorkās latest infatuation, Jaxson Dart. WanāDale did just that in Week 6, leading Giants receivers in all stats.
Dynasty Takeaway: At only 24 years of age, WanāDale has an opportunity to become one of Dartās go-to-guys in 2025. After 2024 where he posted 140 targets and 93 receptions, Wanādale could surpass that with better QB play and no Nabers. Iād ship away a 2nd for NYGās young slot WR.
Josh Jacobs, GB RB - 18 carries for 93 yds & 2 TDs | 5/5 catches for 57 yds
Despite averaging less than 4 yards per carry, Jacobs is EATING good. It helps when he is getting more passing volume than ever combined with more touchdowns than games played.
Dynasty Takeaway: A 28 year old RB⦠conventional wisdom tells us Contenders can hold, but anyone else should sell. As much as I still believe in TreVeyon Henderson, Iām flipping him for Jacobs if Iām trying to win this year.
šļø Injury Report
3 Top Tier WRs went down with injuries in Week 6, but all seemed to avoid a long term absence:
Puka Nacua - sprained ankle. Day-to-Day and could play as soon as this Sunday. If absent, expect the Rams to lean heavily on Adams and Higbee.
Garrett Wilson - hyperextended knee. Likely to miss a few weeks. This may be your last opportunity to get Mason Taylor for ācheapā as heāll become the Jets #1 option with Wilson out.
Emeka Egbuka - hamstring. Reports indicate that Egbuka did not sustain a serious injury, but could miss time. Keep an eye on Kameron Johnson and Tez Johnson with all of Tampaās main wideouts in doubt. Cade Otton also gets a significant boost.

š Fast Lane Fun Facts
Here are 10 shocking stats (before MNF) that made me hit the brakes and make sure I was seeing straight.

Cam Skattebo scored three rushing touchdowns against the Eagles. Saquon Barkley didnāt have a single 3-rushing-TD game in his entire six-year Giants career.
Dynasty Take: Skat is emerging as one of those guys. As a Giants fan, Iām thrilled, although terrified of his injury risk. He has somehow passed Cam Ward and Travis Hunter in KeepTradeCut to be the 9th most valuable rookie, which I think is a little rich. I also think Tyrone Tracy will get more involved as a RB 1B (or more likely an RB2). All in all, I think thereās a decent chance Skat is a little overvalued at this stage. That said, if I have him, I think Iām holding and enjoying the ride (but rebuilders could consider selling).
Patrick Mahomes is leading the Chiefs in rushing (222 yards) ahead of Isiah Pacheco (214) and Kareem Hunt (187), and he has more rushing TDs (4) than both of them combined.
Dynasty Take: He never left IRL, but for fantasy purposes, Mahomes is back. As I write this (Monday night), Pat is the QB1 on the season. Yet, for reasons I cannot comprehend, heās only QB8 in KTC. This fundamental mismatch in value makes Mahomes a SCREAMING buy. How in the world is he behind Joe Burrow, Drake Maye, and Justin Herbert? At 30 years old, Mahomes likely still has at least 7 more years of fantasy relevance. Youāll have to add a little more than an Early 2027 1st to get him.
Ladd McConkey had a monster Week 6 but still sits third on the Chargers in receiving yards (313), behind Keenan Allen (316) and Quentin Johnston (377), who missed last week.
Dynasty Take: This was an awesome, and much needed, 23 PPR point performance for Ladd (and a super clutch play at the end to seal the win). Hoping he can build on this one going forward. Iām not moving him one way or the other after this. That said, I donāt really think a WR1/ high end WR2 level season is in the cards for Ladd, who just faces too much target competition.
Deebo Samuel was PPR WR8 on the season, even before Washingtonās Monday night game.
Dynasty Take: Yes, I know that much of this has come with a banged up Terry McLaurin. But I think Deebo has cemented his role in this Commanders offense, which I expect to improve as the season goes on despite a tough schedule. The nearly 30 year old WR is a sneaky buy for win-now teams, who could get a 1 or 2 season rental for a Mid 2nd.
Jaxson Dart is on a 17-game pace for 946 rushing yards, more than Lamar Jacksonās 915 from last season.
Dynasty Take: Dart just keeps on rolling, knocking off the reigning champion Eagles (sorry Dynasty Detour Tom and Ryan). I donāt expect Dart to continue this rushing pace, with NFL defenses getting more and more aware of his dynamic rushing ability. Letās see how Dart handles having to throw the ball more. But Iām super bullish on his future value given the pinpoint accuracy on many passes Iāve seen him throw + what we now know is a really good rushing floor (even if he doesnāt rush for 50+ yards per game). He is the 7th most valuable rookie on KTC, just behind Judkins and ahead of Henderson. I could see him rising to top 5 rookie value this season if he proves to be a legit rising star and not just a 3 week flash in the pan.
Harold Fannin Jr. leads the Browns in both receptions and receiving yards this season.
Dynasty Take: Fannin is emerging as a special fantasy asset for those that took a shot at him in round 3 of their rookie drafts. Even without the 3rd quarter dropped pass that couldāve been a TD, Fannin posted a season-high 15.1 PPR points. I LOVE him as an asset, and will be buying anywhere I can while heās still cheap (around an Early 2nd). It may not be this year that he fully breaks out (QB play + Njoku still around), but in dynasty, we play the long game.
Christian McCaffrey has 60 targets this season⦠nearly 60% more than the next closest RB (DeāVon Achane) and ranks third in the entire NFL in targets, ahead of JaāMarr Chase and Amon-Ra St. Brown.
Dynasty Take: CMC is becoming a fixture in the Fast Lane Fun Facts segment. Thatās just because his numbers are insane always. He continues to be a special fantasy asset. Are we surprised at this point? Heās probably worth the Early 1st price tag if youāre a legit contender. But Iām waiting to buy until the absolute latest moment before my leagueās deadline, to minimize injury risk.
Rico Dowdle has more yards from scrimmage in the last two games than Saquon Barkley has all season.
Dynasty Take: I mean this has to be one of the craziest stretches weāve seen from any RB, much less from a guy whoās not viewed as a franchise RB. That could soon change, as Carolina continues to roll without Chuba Hubbard (who could return this week). Even when Hubbard returns, I think they have a hard time keeping Dowdle off the field. But letās remember: both of his awesome games came against the Cowboys and Miami. Two of the worst defenses in the NFL. Itās a situation where you canāt really sell Dowdle for fair value (given Hubbard uncertainty) and you canāt really fully trust the production. Dowdleās a hold for me right now.
Dillon Gabriel threw 52 passes against the Steelers and finished with just 221 yards⦠an average of 4.25 yards per attempt.
Dynasty Take: I donāt really think Gabriel is the long term solution in Cleveland. Any value he currently has should be viewed as temporary.
George Pickens is tied for the most receiving TDs (6) in the NFL.
Dynasty Take: Since CeeDee went down, Pickens has been really awesome. Heās only 24.6 years old. Of course, Lambās return will reduce Pickensā TD likelihood, but I REALLY like the talent every week I see from Pickens. Heās worth a Mid 1st, which I think is about right.
Ten fun facts behind us and the roadās only getting twistier. Until next week, keep cruising, Detourists.
