NFL Week 7 Dynasty Detour

Dynasty Detour - Week 7

A WILD Week 7 in which Bo Nix propelled the Broncos to one of the more remarkable comebacks you will ever see, Kevin Patullo finally realized that the Eagles have not one, but TWO stud WRs, and finally… Oronde Gadsden II, remember the name… Let’s hit the Detour.

šŸ“ Traffic Report

Let’s take a look at the most intriguing performances and storylines from Week 7:

Chris Olave, NO WR - 5/7 catches for 98 yds & 2 TDs

  • After a multitude of injuries, Olave has worked his stock back up as a target hog in New Orleans. The combination of little target competition and surprisingly okay QB play, has allowed Olave to be a real asset in 2025.

  • Dynasty Takeaway: A 25 year old that is currently the WR 9 on the season can still be acquired at a discount due to his recent injury history. Prepare for him to shoot up the consensus rankings.

Jalen Hurts, PHI QB - 19/23 for 326 yards & 3 TDs

  • Hurts, don’t it? The reigning Super Bowl MVP had his best game of the season, and the only perfect passer rating for a QB in 2025. This could be the game that kickstarts the Philly passing offense, which AJ & Devonta owners have been desperately awaiting.

  • Dynasty Takeaway: The debates may rage on discussing whether Jalen Hurts is an elite QB, but there’s no doubt he’s an elite fantasy asset. Hurts is my QB 4, only behind Josh, Lamar & Jayden.

TreVeyon Henderson, NE RB - 2 rushes for 5 yds

  • A few weeks back the air was a little different. Rhamondre was struggling with fumbles, Gibson was carted off, and a runway appeared to be opening for Henderson. Flash forward 2 weeks and Henderson sees his lowest snap share of the season at 13% (Rhamondre at 75%), and only 2 touches.

  • Dynasty Takeaway: I’m beginning to worry whether patience won’t pay off with Henderson. The lack of carries is less surprising than the limited passing game involvement. Additionally, Rhamondre looked good, and the Pats finally got the run game going. Consider TreVeyon a hold.

Rashee Rice, KC WR - 7/10 catches for 42 yds & 2 TDs

  • Rice got active early in his season debut scoring a TD on the Chiefs first drive. He looks every bit of the guy he was to start last season, and Andy Reid clearly wants to get him involved in the Red Zone.

  • Dynasty Takeaway: I’ve been beating the Rashee drum all season, and I’m not going to stop here. Being attached to Mahomes for the foreseeable future puts him ahead of Garrett Wilson & Nico Collins in my eyes.

Bo Nix, DEN QB - 27/50 for 279 yds, 48 rushing yds, 4 TDs

  • What was that??? After being held to 0 points for 3 quarters by the Giants, the Broncos erupted to score 33 and shock NY. Bo Nix maybe sorta probably just had the most fantasy points in a single quarter (tough to validate so DDJ refrained from including in his fun facts).

  • Dynasty Takeaway: A special performance from Nix after 7 straight quarters of unspectacular football. KTC has Nix in the 40s, right where I’d have him, but he’s not a player I’m looking to buy.

 šŸš‘ļø Injury Report

  • Mike Evans was carted off. While the diagnosis is unknown at this stage, we can hope that it’s not a career-ender for 13. If it is, what a special career he’s had. Can Egbuka’s stock get any higher? Is the door open for Jalen McMillan when he comes off IR? Time will tell, but stock up for these 2.

  • Jayden Daniels suffered a hamstring injury. In steps Mariota to weather the storm for the Commies.

  • Kendre Miller tore his ACL, opening the door for Kansas RB, Devin Neal, to show us something.

🚘 Fast Lane Fun Facts

Here are 6 crazy stats from Week 7 that made me say WTF before watching MNF:

  1. Rookie TE Orande Gadsden’s 164-yard outburst was the 6th-most receiving yards in a single week by any pass catcher this season, behind only: DeVonta Smith (Week 7, 183), Puka Nacua (Week 4, 170), George Pickens (Week 6, 168), Malik Nabers (Week 2, 167), and Ja’Marr Chase (Week 2, 165).

Dynasty Take: There is just so much target competition on the Chargers. However, I loved Gadsden’s tape out of Syracuse. Per a quick StatMuse search, his week 7 performance netted the 4th most receiving yards by a rookie TE in NFL history. If you’ve been holding tight on Gadsden… big congrats. Don’t sell: there’s a small (but nonzero) chance that he can be a difference making TE. That lottery ticket is not worth cashing in for a third round pick.

  1. Jordan Addison is averaging more points per game than Justin Jefferson this season. In his last 11 games, he’s averaging 17.6 PPR PPG.

Dynasty Take: I keep waiting for touchdown regression… but this week Addison didn’t need a touchdown to score 21.8 PPR fantasy points. He’s a legit baller and has got to create some of the most separation in the entire NFL. Unpopular take: I think JJ McCarthy’s return will ultimately elevate this Minnesota offense (both IRL and fantasy). In dynasty, I’m buying Addison (who’s just 23.7) for a late first round pick all day.

  1. Keenan Allen (33) and Davante Adams (32) are currently WR6 and WR7 respectively on the season.

Dynasty Take: Ageless wonders. Contenders… go buy these guys. Especially look at Keenan (WR6), who’s a legit fantasy stud this season and is currently valued at WR59 on KeepTradeCut.

  1. D’Andre Swift has more fantasy PPR points than Ashton Jeanty and Saquon Barkley, and has played one fewer game.

Dynasty Take: Swift has been looking awesome over the last two weeks (7.71 YPC and 6.53 YPC) and has given managers some great points. That said, his snap share is generally down, with a season low 54% this week. Conversely, Rookie Kyle Monangai had his career-high snap rate (45%) and also had a great game. I’m selling Swift at this point and not looking back. He’s worth a 2nd on KTC.

  1. TreVeon Henderson (2), RJ Harvey (5), and Kaleb Johnson (0) combined for 7 touches in Week 7. Fellow rookie RB Brashard Smith had 19 total touches.

Dynasty Take: Several highly hyped rookie RBs are currently on the Struggle Bus. None have fallen further below expectations than TreVeon, who somehow had the same snap percentage as a practice squad player this week. If I have to rank them in terms of value, I’d have it in the same order listed them. It’s pretty hard to buy low on these guys… I think Henderson owners still won’t be selling. And I don’t really want to buy Harvey or Johnson TBH. If you’re holding the bag on them, I think I’d hold tight, though. Oh and…Brashard Smith (who I know got his touches mostly in garbage time) is one to watch, especially if the Chiefs don’t trade for a RB at the deadline.

  1. Drake Maye (91%) just broke Tom Brady’s Patriots record for single-game completion percentage (88.5%)… and he did it in only his 2nd season (vs. Brady who did it in Year 7).

Dynasty Take: Drake Maye just keeps on chugging. But I can’t help but notice though that his value is getting crazy (14th most valuable asset overall on KTC). Could the market be right on him? Possibly. He’s a hold for me right now.

Six fun facts in the books and the road’s only getting windier. Until next week, keep cruising, Detourists.
