After a bit of a fantasy offseason hiatus, it makes me so happy to say that I’m officially declaring dynasty fantasy football is up and going again. This will be just a short installment of big takeaways from Indianapolis this weekend, but don’t you worry, there is some unbelievably based film breakdowns and rookie write ups coming your way in the coming weeks. For the first time in 2026...

The Risers

I’m personally of the belief that the tape tells a much better story on a guy’s physical traits and how it translates to scoring you fantasy points than any 40 yard dash or run over some cushions on the ground, but that doesn’t mean there’s not still a few things that should absolutely factor into your early assessment of these potential future members of your next championship squad. Here’s who impressed me this weekend.

Jeremiyah Love - RB Notre Dame

6’0” 212 lbs 9 1/8” hands

4.36 40 yard dash | 1.55 10 yard split

First and foremost, props to the guy for testing at all. Clearly the best running back in the class, Love wanted to make sure to let the league know that he belongs in the top 10 picks this April, and he did just that. Love added to an already stellar resumé by coming in 0.03 seconds off the top time amongst the RBs. We saw his home run play potential in college, but many of us have been burned by rookies before that have taught us that NFL speed is different than college speed. Clocking the exact 40 time and a comparable 10 yard split to maybe the burstiest back in the NFL right now in Jahmyr Gibbs on top of the power, vision, and agility Love has put on film for years? As Vince Carter put it oh so elegantly: It’s. Over.

Kenyon Sadiq - TE Oregon

6’3” 241 lbs 31.5” arms 10” hands

4.39 40 yard dash | 1.54 10 yard split | 43.5” Vertical | 26 bench reps

Differing opinions from the Detour film room will be in your inboxes before you know it, but I don’t think even the biggest skeptics among us could make the case that Friday’s tests didn’t make their jaw drop. A record 40 time at the tight end position and truly elite explosiveness measurements are clear demonstrations of top shelf physical attributes and make the case that Sadiq has the tools to be the newest iteration of the modern tight end. I’m not sure if you noticed, but those guys tend to be pretty good at putting up fantasy points.

Mike Washington Jr. - RB Arkansas

6’1” 223 lbs 33 5/8” arms 9 1/4“ hands

4.33 40 yard dash | 1.51 10 yard split | 39” Vertical | 10’ 8” Broad Jump

I am eternally grateful for Washington’s contributions on Saturday saving this list from being just a victory lap for the already consensus top guys at their positions. Posting the RB groups top 40 time at his size is astonishing, and the 10 yard split might be even more impressive. Washington’s performance certainly moved him considerably up draft boards, making his potential for immediate NFL work notably higher. We’ll address his tape in the weeks to come, but it is safe to say that our pens are hovered over the explosiveness and home run speed potential check boxes and are just waiting on some confirmation to fill them in.

Garrett Nussmeier - QB LSU

6’2” 203 lbs 9 1/4” hands

No on-field testing

Rolled into this is the news out of the Nussmeier camp that he played through a core muscle injury for all of his senior season at LSU. While obviously we can’t prove that this isn’t a statement meant to shift scouts’ focus towards his much more prolific 2024 season, I can say it might explain some things. His decision not to participate in athletic measurements isn’t shocking, but I think I can still find a way to form an opinion on him as a quarterback without watching him broad jump. I thought his passing drills looked really good. Obviously these run with no defense, but I thought his ball placement up and down the field was really nice, and that the mechanics and drive on his passes were crispy. Ty Simpson had a fine day too, and still may possess more fantasy potential due to his love of running the football, but I think this began the campaign that will build towards April that will result in Nussmeier being the second QB off the board, which will effect both he and Simpson’s rookie draft value.

The Fallers

Though nobody’s stock is sunk, there were two guys that I either thought needed to prove something and didn’t, or came in considerably below where I thought they would.

Jadarian Price - RB Notre Dame

5’11” 203 lbs 30 7/8” arms 9 5/8” hands

4.49 40 yard dash | 1.61 10 yard split | 35” Vertical | 10’4” Broad Jump

There’s going to be a lot of you that shook your head seeing that name up there, but I genuinely had no idea what I was looking at watching Price do these drills on Saturday. Full disclosure I thought there were some obvious gaps in his game on tape that people have been overlooking when they so confidently put him as the second best RB in the class, but it was hard for me to say his burst in the open field wasn’t exciting. Again, I’m not going to let a few tests tell me that his ability to do certain things in pads against a defense weren’t real, but I’m not going to turn a blind eye to some weak tests that do give some indication just how I felt his strengths compared to NFL talent. There’s no way around it, these numbers are so mid.

Chris Brazzell II - WR Tennessee

6’4” 198 lbs 32 3/8” arms 9” hands

4.37 40 yard dash | 1.52 10 yard split

I know I just juiced the hell out of very similar numbers for Jeremiyah Love, but Brazzell to me is a guy that has some holes in his game that, while possible to address at the next level, would sure be a whole lot easier to get around with some absolutely lethal speed. This was his M.O. in college, and to me the numbers were disappointing. Not being particularly YAC-y (copyright on that term pending) or a particularly inspiring route runner or contested catch receiver at the college level coupled with a time that puts him out of a threshold I would consider uniquely dangerous downfield is not what I wanted to see.

God it is good to be back. As mentioned multiple times above (sue me, I’m excited), film breakdowns are coming soon, with the first one dropping this Thursday. We’re going to give you our take on the tape for Jordyn Tyson, Elijah Sarratt, and Chris Brazzell II first, but twice a week through the draft you’ll get to see all the prospects you need to know about before April’s NFL draft. In other exciting news, the film breakdowns and write ups will be compiled on the soon to drop Dynasty Detour website! This you do not want to miss.
